Why does everything want to eat me?

Iwas downstair at my parents house when i saw something moving in the corner.  It was a long thin snake going after a pretty large lizard of some sort.  The lizard looked like a gila moster, only it was a light blue with orange stripse, and was charging at me with its mouth open.  I avoided it and it carried on up the stairs, and the snake lunged at me from the bottom.  I started trynig to look up to see if either were poisones when peoetr came in and started petting the lizard- apparently it used to be one of his spets.  I didn’t find out about the snake, but then a huge glass dome was put around the house so I could’nt escape
